| The Ethernet transceivers are Attachment Unit Interfaces (AUI) for quick and easy attachment to all types of Ethernet cables. All have an AUI connector for connection to a host. Ultra-small, models DE-851, DE-853 and DE-854 can directly attach to the host's AUI connector, dispensing users of the cumbersome AUI cable and the extra cost. The DE-854 has 1 ST and 1 AUI, and is useful for connecting a small workgroup to a main network. It conveniently connects a small cluster of stations on the coaxial cable to a 10BASE-T concentrator, saving the cost of an extra repeater. Collision detection and full diagnostic LED's are provided. |
